Inaugurated on 20 September 2019, the Museum of the Resistance, Deportation, and Memory offers you an immersion in the history of the Second World War through the testimonies of the inhabitants of Loir-et-Cher who lived through it.
Description
It perpetuates the mission of the Museum of the Resistance, Deportation and Liberation in Loir-et-Cher since 8 May 1995. Founded on the fiftieth anniversary of the Nazi surrender and on the initiative of former Resistance fighters and deportees from the Loir-et-Cher, its purpose was to preserve the memory of the dark years that saw the defeat of France and its occupation. The Centre brings back to life the history of the Resistance, its origins and its emergence in the department between 1940 and 1945, but also the perils incurred by those who dared to say no.
